- Journal of Documents contains 3 types of documents: Deposit +/-, Transaction and Trade.
You can open
Journal of documents in two ways:
The layout of
customize the layout of the Journal.
Each opened Journal
stores all settings. You can open 2 and more Journals at the same time, and
each of them could be customized. For example, the first Journal could select
by one account, while the second and others could do that by other accounts. And/or each Journal could display its set of columns. Next time you open
several Journals, each of them will show stored settings.
Buttons in the
upper panel of the Journal
- To add a new Transaction document.
Usually these documents
are created by default with data import from trading platforms, but you can create them manually as well.
- To add a new Trade document.
consists of two and more Trade documents.
It is easier to create
this document by dragging one Transaction into another.
- To add a new Deposit +/- document.
Usually these documents are created by default with data import from trading platforms, but you can create them manually.
- To edit the current document.
You can use a shortcut key Space to open
the current document.
- To copy the current document.
- To delete the selected documents.
To highlight all
documents use Ctrl+A combination.

- To show\hide grouping panel
- To show\hide summary panel
- To save the Journal into MS Excel file

caption for the current Journal
The columns in
the Journal could be of two types: system and
Customized columns are properties of the Transactions which you can create and fill in on your own.
System columns are the columns which are created by default with
creating a new database. You can’t delete them. You can hide\show, move or rename them.
Here is some
more information about them:
– this column is filled in by
default with any document entry.
If the box is
checked, the Transaction or Trade is closed and this will be shown in the
reports. The box is checked if the Exit date is filled in.
Profit, % - this column is
calculated by default with the entry of any document. Calculation formula is as
percentage = Net profit \ 100 * Balance on the current account before
Why can this
value be miscalculated or not calculated at all?
1. No account
balance is entered in Deposit +\-
2. Balance is
entered, but the entry date for balance is after the date of the current
Transaction. Check and change the date of Deposit +\- document. Set sorting by Entry date column and make sure that Deposit +\- deposit is at the
top of the table.
3. The current
document has got no Exit date
Screenshots. This column shows a small picture if Transaction or
Trade document has at least one screenshot. By clicking the picture, you will
open the form Screenshot viewer.
Comments. This column shows a small picture if Transaction
or Trade document has some entries in Comments field. By clicking the picture, you will open a small form
with the comments for the current document. You can change the form without opening the document.
Weight is the sum of the values in Weight column in
Properties table of Transaction and Trade documents. Find out more here and here.
Duration (in seconds) – this information could be useful to search the
longest or the shortest Transactions, as well as to calculate an average value.
To do this, you can use summary display with this column.
Also you can sort by this column and compile a report Duration.
Year, month, day are the columns which could be useful for data grouping. For example:
№ external – when data is downloaded from different trading
platforms, am order number is entered in this column.
Max risk in % - If you
enter Stop loss in Transaction document in Order table, this column will show
the max loss percentage from the current deposit.
Journal documents contain 2 context menus which open by a right mouse click.
